Website Help and Information

Local 36 has developed two websites for member use, the Hall website and the Training School website. Both feature a large amount of news and information for Local 36 members and pertinent links to other websites. The websites consist of public and private web pages. After you have registered on either website, you can enter your email address to receive informational emails from Local 36. Registering on either Local 36 website will automatically register you on the other website.

Also, Local 36 and the SMACNA contractor’s association have jointly developed a web system that allows you to register for Mechanical License PEU courses online. Many members with mechanical licenses will need 12 PEU credits by June, 2007. Your mechanical license information MUST be entered correctly in order to use the PEU system.

The secure, private member pages on all three websites can only be accessed after you set up a password to use in combination with your member number. Your member number/password combination is the same for all three websites.

To use the Local 36 website, open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, FireFox, etc.) and type http://www.sheetmetal36.org in the address bar. To use the School website, type http://www.smw36jatc.org in the address bar. After opening one of these pages, the web address can be saved for easy access. If using Internet Explorer, on the menu bar click Favorites, and then Add to Favorites.

On the Hall and School home pages, go to the secure private pages by clicking the Members Only button on the bottom left of the page. This will take you to the Member's Secure Area Access Menu.

To set up your password, click the New User button. In addition to creating your password, the New User button can also be used to change your password or to edit your Mechanical License information.

On the First Time Sign In/Change Password/Change Mechanical License page, enter your union number (without the “M”) and your first name and last name exactly as they appear on your dues receipt.

If your information is verified, you will be asked to re-enter your member id, enter and verify your new password, and enter your email address and mechanical license information. You should get a message that your password was saved; you can now go to the Member’s Secure Area Access Menu and use the Sign In button to view the member pages. Other choices on the menu are to enter or edit your email address, edit your address and other information, return to the Home page, or sign out of the secure area.

Members can also sign in to the School website. Buttons have been provided to view your apprentice grades and accumulated work hours, which have been posted starting with the 2005-2006 year.

From the Hall or School private Member Services page, you can go to the PEU application by clicking on the PEU button. Or, use the PEU system by going to http://www.smacnastlouis.org and clicking the PEU Classes button.

The PEU System Sign In page again requires your member id and password. Remember that your mechanical license information must be correctly entered to use the PEU system.

After signing in, you will see the PEU Start Menu. That page has buttons to view PEU Classes or to view your PEU History. Your history will consist of all Local 36 and SMACNA classes completed using the web PEU system starting in May 2006.

Using the PEU Classes button will display a list of available classes and their schedules. A class may be repeated on various schedules. Click the Register link to sign up for a class. Some of the classes will require payment of a registration fee. You can follow the online directions to pay securely online using your Visa or MasterCard.
