Sheet Metal Workers' Local 36 is teaming up with the St. Louis Chapter of the Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors National Association for a residential air-conditioner and furnace rebate program this spring. The rebate program was a huge success in 2009 and it was an easy decision to bring it back in 2010
Beginning March 15, homeowners who purchase and arrange for installation of a new air conditioning unit or furnace from the list of participating contractors will be eligible for a $125 rebate per system installed with a maximum rebate of $250. The program will run thru May 28
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the average home can save up to 20 percent a year on heating and cooling costs just by installing high efficiency units. Depanding on the unit, 2010 federal tax credits may also be available, so check with your installer and tax representative to see if you qualify.
